Tourists? In Oceanside?

It's amazing how you can live in a city for over 30 years and in one evening see it for the first time.┬áMy funky little beach town is a tourist mecca!oceanside_pier We were all expecting a fairly laid back, quiet Sunset Market in downtown Oceanside yesterday evening. After all, it WAS the day after Christmas and who would want to do any more shopping. Or eating??? Out of town guests, that's who! Hundreds of them, thousands of them. All in shorts and flip flops enjoying sunny warm weather in the mid seventies - for the next ten days or so.sunset crowd I was told that the occupancy rate in Oceanside was at 100%. So, you're staying in one of new resorts and time shares and find out about a street fair around the block from the beach. Yeah, you're totally down for that... I would be. Lucky you! They came from Canada, they came from Michigan and Minnesota. Met folks from all over Europe and a few from the right coast. All had a great time and were enjoying my little piece of paradise. oceanside-beach-1Needless to say, all the vendors at Oceanside's Sunset Market were pleasantly surprised and happy to welcome each and every one of our happy holiday tourists! Guess the cat's out of the bag and the rest of the world has found out what we have known for years. Oceanside, California is the best!

Holiday Gift Market in Oceanside

Ever been to a wonderful Christmas Market in Europe? Well, this Thursday evening, you can come as close as you can get in Southern California by visiting Oceanside's Holiday Gift Market!Holiday-Market-600x757 There are gifts galore, prepackaged foods and gourmet treats for everyone on your shopping list. Swing by downtown Oceanside and enjoy the evening! Our December sunsets have been fabulous and vendors are decked out for these very special markets (there's even a contest!). You can grab some great grub and pick up great last minute gifts! I have just a few of my special Cheryl's Caramels holiday buckets left, so get'em while you can. Christmas is only a few days away...

Website fixed!

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone who informed me of the super slow response time on the Cheryl's Caramels website! Thanks to my computer genie son, the site is once again purring along at full speed. The host changed servers which messed up a bunch of links, which added 20 second delays. It's all better now, so go ahead and order some caramels - you know you want too!

Will “Merry Christmas” packaging offend?

At this evening's Sunset Market, I will be offering holiday themed caramel packaging including "Merry Christmas", "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings".xmas Now mind you, my 30 plus years experience in marketing and PR, and the constant barrage from the PC crowd tells me NOT to "offend" anyone by saying, doing or mentioning anything Christmas. Yet I am a Christian. And proud of it. I respect and admire all of humanities religious beliefs and holidays. To each his own. I can do this, I have no board of directors or shareholders to be accountable too. So, if you are offended by my Christmas packaging, remember that I respect your views and beliefs and am stocked up with my standard Cheryl's Caramels packaging... Bet these "Merry Christmas" buckets are best sellers tonight!

Holiday Packaging Going Fast!

Spending the next couple of days preparing the last of my special holiday themed caramel buckets for a special customer at the North Pole! His jolly little elves are stopping by daily to gather the goods! I have stashed a few though and will have them available for purchase until December 23rd. xmas packaging Grab'em while you can! As you can see, they are going FAST and are best seller at the markets. When they're gone, they're gone!
