Land of the free, because of the brave…

Wishing a "Happy" Memorial Day has always been something I've found hard too do. On Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice to keep us safe. I sincerely thank you all. Oceanside, California - my home town - is a Marine town. And damn proud of it (OOOO RAHHH)! Camp Pendelton is our neighbor to the north, separating San Diego from Orange county. The older I get, the younger the recruits get. I know that if my car breaks down, or I need any kind of help, there will always be a Marine there to assist. I love these guys.memorial day I thank my Marines every chance I get. I've given free caramel buckets to 2 Marines at every market that Cheryl's Caramels attends. I have done this from the very beginning and will continue to do so. These guys and gals always look so shocked that someone is being nice to them. That bothers me. There are conditions, three of them to be exact, that the recipients of the free caramel buckets must understand. 1. They can not say "Thank You" back to me. I am thanking them for their service. 2. They have to kick some butt if they get the chance. 3. They have to come back safe and sound. Now kicking butt and coming back are never a problem for these brave young men and women. The hardest part for them is to not say "Thank You" back to me. That really goes against their grain - and spurs creativity. Have I told you that I love these guys? So I honor and thank all service people, those who have served, sacrificed and their families. We are the land of the free, because of the brave.
